A Credit Card Number (also called PAN) consist of an IIN (also called BIN), the account identification and a check digit.

By the IIN it's possible to identify:

• the scheme (Mastercard, VISA, JCB, Amex, ...)
• the issuer bank (the bank of the card holder)
• and the country of the issuer bank
• and the type of card (credit card, debit card, corporate card, ...)

The BIN- / IIN tables are not public.

Eine Kreditkartennummer (auch PAN genannt) besteht aus einer IIN (auch BIN genannt), der Kontonummer und einer Prüfziffer.

Die IIN ermöglicht die Identifikation:

• des Schemes das Schema (Mastercard, VISA, JCB, Amex, ...)
• den Issuerdes Issuers, d.h. die ausstellende der ausstellenden Bank (die Bank des Karteninhabers)
• das Land des Landes der kartenausgebenden Bank (Issuer-Bank)
• und ggf. die der Art der Karte (Kreditkarte, Debitkarte, Unternehmenskarte, ...)

Die BIN- / IIN-Tabellen sind nicht öffentlich.
